As a Forklift Operator at the Foley, AL site, you will be responsible for transporting high-value and complex aircraft structural components into, within, and out of the assembly facility.

You will...

  • Be responsible for the loading and unloading of parts and finished goods from various trucks and shipping vehicles.

  • Be responsible for safely securing and affixing hardware for transportation (domestic and international).

  • Ensure hardware / goods are packaged per transportation regulations and procedures.

  • Operate a forklift and crane to transfer OEM inventory / supplies and containers to required locations.

  • Operates a forklift and crane to load and/or unload OEM inventory / supplies and containers both incoming and outgoing, trucks and/or trailers.

  • Receive, store, issue and deliver production hardware in accordance with established procedures.

  • Compile and maintain accurate records of shipped hardware.

  • Compare quantity and part number of items received with procurement data to ensure completeness and accuracy of order.

  • Weigh OEM inventory, and shipping containers.

  • Work to standard work independently with little or no supervision. Performs duties as described below.

  • Support Continuous Improvement initiatives.

  • Support the packaging, labeling, loading and unloading of all OEM Shipments per processes.

  • Assess stock supply and reorder status.

  • Interface effectively with other shifts and departments to optimize product flow.

  • Complie with all safety and environmental regulations, and works to create and promote a safe working environment.

  • Performs all other duties as assigned.

Qualification: Required Experience / Expertise

  • At least 1 year of experience operating various types of forklifts, as well as other devices such as pallet jacks, tuggers, etc.

  • Ability to sit, stand, walk, reach, twist, climb, crouch, stoop & kneel and lift up to 50 pounds.

  • Ability to use Personal Protective Equipment (PPE): safety glasses with side shields, hearing protection, and other PPE as needed for 8+ hours per day.

  • Must be able to work rotating shifts, and to work overtime and on week-ends.

  • Nothing matters more to UTC Aerospace Systems than our strong ethical and safety commitments. Therefore, all U.S. positions require a background check, which may include a drug screen.

Desired Experience / Expertise
